On July 28, our team participated in its third CycleNation Philadelphia event to help raise critical funds for the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association. Six medcomms employees—Jen Cogliano, Meryl Gersh, Janel Gluch, Iesha Lewis-Crofoot, Sonal Shah, and Denise Smith—comprised two teams that raised almost $5,200 between them. This record-breaking amount earned AlphaGroup fourth place among all companies riding to help save lives from stroke and heart disease.

“Our ongoing participation in this local event furthers our company mission to support better decision-making in healthcare,” said Meryl Gersh, PhD, AlphaGroup Senior Vice President, Head of Scientific Services. “And it’s nice to be part of a community event that raises money for a greater cause while improving our physical health.”

The CycleNation event supports the continued research and communications concerning stroke and heart disease. Stroke affects almost 800,000 people in the US annually and is 80% preventable. And heart disease is the leading killer of Americans.

“This event combining fitness and fundraising also lets our employees know the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance,” said Sonal Shah, AlphaGroup Director of Operations.
